Fredrick Ouko is the Executive Director of Action Network for the Disabled, a national disabled person’s organization working with youth with disabilities in Kenya. He has pioneered economic empowerment projects targeting young people as a way of achieving sustainable livelihoods and reducing poverty. Fredrick has previously served as an advisor to Disability Rights Fund and is a founding secretary general of African Youth with Disability Network, an initiative that seeks to bring together youth with disabilities on the continent of Africa. Through his work on creating employment opportunities for persons with disabilities, he was elected an Ashoka Fellow in 2012, a global movement of social entrepreneurs who are responding to community challenges by offering systemic-oriented solutions. He has recently founded a social enterprise called Riziki Source that seeks to leverage technology towards the creation of employment for persons with disabilities in Kenya and beyond. Fredrick has a training background in Business Administration and a degree in Political Science from the University of Nairobi.
