Yusuf Adio is Senior Programmes Officer (SPO) with the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) in Abuja, Nigeria. Through several project implemented within Nigeria and other West African countries, Shamsudeen has mobilised and led advocacy for greater involvement of citizens in decision making process, accountability and transparency. Recently, he coordinated a civil society groups working for campaign against Illicit Financial Flows (IFFs) to mark the International Anti-corruption Day in Nigeria. He is currently coordinating effort to engage relevant committees at the National Assembly to engineer process that prevent IFF for national development and growth. Among other things, He has been involved in high level programmatic operations, cutting across several program areas like research and planning, election and democraticisation, security sector reform. In his capacity as SPO, he has observed elections at local, sub-national, national and regional levels; conducted trainings for stakeholders on mandate protection; convened inter-party debates on national issues; conducted researches on development issues in Nigeria and engaged government for policy change. Mr. Yusuf is lead officer of BuhariMeter (www.buharimeter.ng) project; a project that aims at tracking, monitoring and creating awareness on the implementation of campaign promises of President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, All Progressives Congress (APC). He is a member of DFID Voice for Change (V4C) Project Research Advisory Group, Nigeria; an alumnus of West Africa Peacebuilding Institute (WAPI), Ghana, and was a Junior Fellow Institut Français de Recherche en Afrique (IFRA), University of Ibadan. He has professional certifications in peacebuilding programme design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation; gender sensitive-governance course; and budget monitoring and tracking for CSOs. Shamsudeen holds bachelor and master degrees in Political Science from Lagos State University and University of Ibadan respectively.
