GSDPP Adjunct Professor represents at the World Summit
GSDPP Adjunct Professor Dr Alison Gillwald recently sat on the High-Level Panel at the World Summit on the Information Society held in Geneva in June 2017. Dr Gillwald was selected as one of only four academics amongst the ministers, regulators and industry leaders in attendance. Her Research ICT Africa and UCT high level statement can be read here.
Dr Gillwald was also a keynote speaker at the African Conference on Information Systems and Technology (ACIST) in July this year, where she spoke about the role and responsibilities of the academy in transitional societies and the need for transdisciplinary research in the area of information systems and ICT4D to meet the developmental needs of African countries.
